Lovable Shipped Hackathon

What it was

Lovable Shipped was Lovable's flagship hackathon series through late 2025.
Unlike a single-weekend hackathon, Shipped ran as a multi-week
asynchronous online event with rolling submissions and monthly judging
cycles. The "Shipped" framing was deliberate — emphasis on launching
real, deployable products that users could actually use, not throwaway
weekend demos.

The format spawned multiple themed iterations: Shipped Tokyo (which
became Builders Weekend Tokyo), Shipped Miami (eMerge AI Hackathon),
and a SheBuilds variant for women builders.

Why it mattered

Three things came out of Shipped:

• Lovable's flywheel. Each Shipped cycle produced ~50–200 working

Lovable-built apps. Many of these became sustained side-projects, some became startups, all of them increased Lovable's surface area for word-of-mouth.

• Asynchronous works. The rolling submission format proved that

hackathons don't need a single 48-hour weekend window to produce quality output.

• First-time-founder-friendly. Lovable explicitly positioned Shipped

as a low-barrier event for first-time founders. Many of the strongest submissions came from builders who'd never written production code before.
