What it was

The AI Collective's Lovable × Roam International Hackathon was a cross-
border online hackathon held in June 2025, jointly organized by The AI
Collective community, Lovable, and Roam International. 151 registered
participants spanning multiple regions. The event served as the
seasonal kickoff for what became the Lovable Shipped series.

Format leaned global-async: a 7-day window with intentional team-formation
mechanics that paired builders across time zones. The output skewed
toward consumer-facing AI tools — a direct fit for Lovable's
strengths.

Why it mattered

• Cross-org hackathon model. Three organizations (community + brand +

partner) jointly running a hackathon proved out a co-marketing pattern Lovable would replicate in subsequent Shipped iterations.

• Cross-border team formation. Most hackathons leave team formation

to attendees. This event explicitly engineered global pairings, which produced more diverse submissions than typical city-bound hackathons.

• Devpost as the front door. The event used Devpost for hosting and

judging — confirming that even brand-led hackathons benefit from Devpost's existing developer audience and submission tooling.
