Where hackathons are time-boxed competitions and conferences are multi-day paid events, meetups are the low-commitment entry point: a few hours on a weeknight, no ticket, no prize pressure. Most are organized by community groups like the Vibe Coding Collective, AI Tinkerers, and Build Club, or by tool DevRel teams running local user groups in cities such as San Francisco, New York, London, and Berlin. Typical format: 2 to 3 hours, a couple of lightning demos, an open build or Q&A, then informal networking.
